You don’t have to figure it all out on your own
Sometimes, life feels heavy. You might feel stressed, overwhelmed, or unsure of what to do next, and that’s okay. Our counsellors are here to support you, whether you’re going through something personal, facing academic challenges, or thinking about your future. It’s free, it’s confidential, and it’s part of being a student at VCC.
Frequently asked questions
If you’re feeling off—stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself—it’s okay to reach out. You don’t need to have a crisis to talk to someone.
Counselling can help if:
- You’ve been feeling low and want ways to cope better
- You’re dealing with change and could use some extra support
- Relationships or day-to-day life feel hard to manage
- You’re stuck in your thoughts or unsure how to move forward
Our counsellors are here to listen and help you feel more in control. You’ll get support, tools, and space to process things quickly.
Not at all. Reaching out shows strength; it means you care enough about yourself to ask for what you need. It takes courage to face challenges, and even more to face them with support.
Talking is a big part, but it’s not just chatting.
Counselling allows you to understand yourself better, see things from new angles, and work through what’s holding you back. You’ll build coping tools, strengthen your confidence, and determine what you need to move forward.
It’s not a quick fix but it can make a real difference.
Counselling is a process. Sometimes it’s hard work. But it’s also a space for growth, healing, and small shifts that add up. You won’t be doing it alone—and that can change everything.
